Ravenswood On Tap beer festival June 24-25

To celebrate being home to one of the most inventive brewing communities in the country, Chicago’s Ravenswood neighborhood will be hosting the second annual Ravenswood On Tap craft beer festival June 24-25. Featuring beer and spirits by local breweries (Band of Bohemia, Begyle, Dovetail, Empirical, Half Acre, Spiteful, Greenstar, Andersonville Brewing and Koval Distillery), food trucks and tasty selections from some of Chicago’s favorite restaurants, as well as a backdrop of local music lineups and boutique art stands, this festival is an ideal spot for a few cold local brews.

Avion tequila dinner at Cantina Laredo June 24

If you have a love for Mexican cuisine and an interest in learning a bit about tequila history, then head to Cantina Laredo in River North for its Avion tequila dinner on Saturday, June 24. Starting with a cocktail reception and a brief history lesson on Avion tequila, the event will move to feature four traditional Mexican courses paired with four Avion cocktails.

TheWit Hotel’s Movie Monday series presents Lala Land June 26

In 2016 Lala Land swept audiences off their feet, and on Monday, June 26, the hit movie will be presented at ROOF as part of TheWit Hotel’s annual Movie Monday series. The movie will begin on the rooftop lounge at dusk, and free popcorn will also be given to attendees to munch on as they enjoy the film.

Geja’s Cafe celebrates its 52nd anniversary with special deals throughout June

For its 52nd anniversary, fondue favorite Geja’s Cafe will be celebrating with special deals on menu items and a traditional sauce recipe contest. All you have to do to join in the festivities is come in during the month of June on any day Sunday through Thursday to receive $19.65 (In honor of opening in 1965) off each premier dinner selection. A limited-time champagne list offering 52 percent off regular-priced drinks can also be paired with your meal. Don’t forget to mention you are there to celebrate Geja’s 52nd anniversary at the door.

Kanela Breakfast Club adds new location in Ukranian Village

The sixth Kanela Breakfast Club in Chicago is now open in Ukrainian Village. Known for a sweet and savory menu with homemade recipes, this location boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere and freshly baked pastries that include fresh muffins and traditional Greek diples (a cross between a doughnut and funnel cake). The new location will also offer health-conscious lunch options including wraps, sandwiches and a twist on the classic avocado toast. Open Monday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m
